New roles at VisitorPoint reflect a year of business growth success
A new General Manager will take the helm of New Zealand’s largest and most successful distributor of travel information.
Queenstown-based Jenni Powell has been VisitorPoint’s Business Development Manager for the past three years, travelling the length and breadth of the country driving exceptional business growth.
She starts her new General Manager role on January 14 2019, while former National Outlet Manager Stacey Scott steps into the role of Business Development Manager at the same time.
“I’ve been so proud to be involved with the successful growth of VisitorPoint, especially in the past 12 months when we’ve had our biggest year ever,” said Jenni.
“We’ve hit some pretty impressive milestones, delivering over 11 million brochures to market and launching our client reporting services giving clients access to quality data so they can track and manage their print collateral.”
The number of clients using the reporting services grew 20% as a result, and the services were instrumental in securing a national contract with the largest visitor guide publisher in the tourism industry, AA Travel & Tourism.
“We’re working with the most comprehensive library of national tourism product and have some incredibly passionate and experienced staff within our business,” said Jenni. “It’s an understatement to say I’m excited about what the future holds for VisitorPoint!”
Stacey Scott said she had spent the past 18 months with VisitorPoint focusing on bringing new distribution outlets on board in a range of locations around New Zealand.
“My job has been to give our operators the best exposure possible while also building solid relationships with existing outlets such as our international and domestic airports,” she said.
“I’ve also been identifying where we can expand our circuits into new locations and looking after our Trade Website users, spreading the message that print is still very much ‘alive and kicking’ and in high demand by travellers.
“I’m really excited to bring my experience and knowledge to my new role as Business Development Manager, managing our national sales team and working closely with clients to continue to provide the best marketing solutions for their business.”
VisitorPoint has more than 30 years’ experience in brochure distribution, distributing over 3,500 brochure titles from New Zealand tourism operators through more than 2000 physical display outlets nationally. It operates 38 distribution circuits supported by its 32-strong staff.
Former General Manager Kelly Harland, who recently celebrated 20 years’ working at VisitorPoint, relocated earlier this year to Rotorua with her family and has taken up a newly created role as Systems Manager.
VisitorPoint Owner Geoff Spong said he was “delighted” to welcome Jenni to the role, citing her strong work ethic and enthusiasm for the company.
“She is full of ideas and boundless energy and has always been focussed on business growth and development,” he said.
“Her commitment to VisitorPoint has resulted in the stellar year we’ve just had, and there’s plenty more to come. This summer is looking to be our biggest ever, with October distribution figures up over 11% on last year.”
